If you have epilepsy you may have memory problems due to the medication you take. If you have a seizure the night before a test, this can also affect your memory. Fortunately, there are things you can do to help your memory so you can get better grades on your tests. Below are two tips to help you get started.

Take Care of Yourself

Before you do anything else you need to take care of yourself. For example, if you do not get enough sleep your mind will not be as sharp and you will not do well on your tests. Also, drink enough water as you may be walking around dehydrated and not realize it. Even a small amount of dehydration will make you tired, which will also make your brain tired. How much water you need depends on your gender and how active you are.

If you are a stressful person you may not think clearly. Fortunately, there are some relaxation techniques that can help control and relieve the stress you are feeling.

If you drink alcohol, do not drink it the night before your tests, as this can cloud your mind and affect your memory.

Your seizure medication may also be causing memory problems. If so, talk with your neurologist about this. They may suggest that you try another medication that will not affect your memory as much.

Take Memory Training Class

Once you start taking good care of yourself, there are many tools you can use to help with memory problems.  One of the best ways is to take a memory training class through a qualified company. These trainers know the proper techniques and tools to use for your situation. The trainer will not use the same tools and technique for every person, but design a program that will work well for the individual.  The training they provide to you should be challenging and will be progressive.

This is a software that guides your process so you know where you need to work harder. The company will also provide you with software that you can use there and at home to improve your memory. The software they use depends on the company you hire. In most cases there will be games, you will have to read and then answer questions, or memorize numbers, etc.

Your trainer can give you many tools, tips, and memory training tools that you can use at home to help you study and retain information for your tests.
